Ever since COVID-19 entered our lives, we may have become more and more unmotivated to get up and go about our day to day tasks. Life might feel like an endless cycle of the same old routine. We urge you to turn your self-doubt into self-empowerment instead of falling deeper into negativity. Self-empowerment allows us to take control over our lives by helping us make good decisions and set priorities. In other words, you should know and believe in yourself.
Personal empowerment is defined as allowing yourself to be successful. Now this doesn't mean you’re alone in this battle because you aren’t. Chances are, you’ll need someone to get advice from and help support you through this difficult time. And that’s okay! Sometimes we need to lean on others because we should never bottle up our emotions, or else we would explode!
We should constantly focus on motivational activities that have inspired us day in and day out, especially during this time of isolation. We would like to share six ways you can feel empowered throughout your day!
1: Think Long-Term As we all know, we can’t see results in one day, and that’s okay! Take one day at a time and sooner or later, you’ll start seeing results. Trust the process. If things aren’t working, try something else and eventually you’ll get there! Patience is an important virtue. Don’t get discouraged! You got this!
2: Daily Affirmations Okay, this might be a tricky one, so please bear with us. Try to give yourself a compliment once a day. Affirmations are very vital when using the law of attraction and they can help kick start your morning! In the link above, you’ll find fifty phrases that you can use for success and confidence!
3: Get to Know “me" We might say that we already know ourselves, but sometimes we forget that the most important thing is to take care of ourselves both mentally and physically! We say “I'm okay”, however, we all know deep down at times that we’re not really ok. Caring for yourself is a positive ritual that we urge you to start integrating into your daily routine. Go on a shopping spree, treat yourself to a day at the spa, or just stay home and relax. As you continue to garner your self love, you’ll soon notice a difference from the first day you started to where you are right now. YOU did that and we’re very proud of you!
4: Trust Yourself Just as you had taken the time to learn more about yourself and to relax, you need to learn to trust yourself more! The next time a light bulb appears, try to take it as far as you can go. Never let anyone or anything stop you from doing so because you never know where your instincts will take you.
5: Embrace Your Flaws It’s okay to feel insecure about your imperfections, but you should also accept them. We can assure you that being vulnerable and humble enough to accept those flaws is a powerful trait not everyone possesses. It’s going to be difficult, yes, but it’s definitely not impossible! A little birdie once said, “Remember, there are no mistakes in life- just life experiences.” So never put yourself down for making a mistake! There will be many bumps in the road, sometimes dips you don’t see ahead, and that’s perfectly fine because that’s how we gain knowledge and grow stronger and wiser. As time goes by, you’ll see just how much you’ve grown from this practice! You’ll feel empowered from this self-teaching but it will still leave room for humility to keep you grounded. Just remember - those imperfections make you YOU. And you are perfectly imperfect!
6: Try Something New Try eating healthier, go out for a walk, write in a journal about how you feel each day no matter what it is. Just try it! Commit to that activity for 30 days and see how much it has impacted you. It will do you good and help you become a better version of yourself.
